Parts Sales and Strategic Operations

After a period of high inflation and most OEMs expecting a downturn in activity in 2024, this sourcing and purchasing deep-dive session will drill into key levers OEM purchasers and planners in an aftersales role can control. This will be a two-part session. This session’s focus will cover a broad range of topics, but we expect it to focus on items such as:

  • Sourcing Strategy: Do Aftersales leverage the strength of the Production arm of their business to support them? Is Sourcing centralized or is Parts Sourcing a separate arm of the business? Does the Parts business have guidelines and guardrails in relation to Minimum Order Quantities? 
  • Supplier Responsibilities & Management: Number of suppliers, or suppliers per commodity? Supplier scorecard and management best practices? 
  • Lead Time Analysis: Lead-times changes over the last 4 years
  • Struggling Suppliers: How to identify problem suppliers proactively? How to conduct supplier escalations and improve performance?
