We know many OEMs saw a 10-12 point swing in system fill over ~9 months during 2022. For this session, we will select OEMs who chose wildly different stocking and inventory management policies, ranging from solving the problem with spending, to having excellent forecasting, to relying on the parent company, to blocking parts aggressively, and to establishing alternative sources. What we don’t want: similar stories from each OEM. What we do want: a wide variety of different tactics to achieve the same goal. We prefer stories that focus on solving a problem before it arises (think Toyota’s “overstock” of microchips they created after the 2011 Fukushima disaster), but any stories of interesting policy changes are welcome!
